Obituary for Lawrence Hall Skeen

Lawrence  Hall  Skeen
Skeen, Lawrence “Hall” – age 80 of Washburn, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2014. He was an active member and Deacon of Warwick’s Chapel Baptist Church and accepted the Lord at an early age. He was born to the late Arley Skeen and Grace (Inklebarger) Skeen on December 6, 1933 in Luttrell on Little Tater Valley Road. Hall attended Horace Maynard High School. He married Una Jean Hubbs on February 12, 1954 and they lived together in Luttrell before relocating to a farm in Tater Valley in 1980. He was President and Owner of Skeen Builders, Inc. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Una Jean Hubbs Skeen; his two sisters, Kate (Skeen) Hubbs and the late O. C. Hubbs, and Carolyn Grace Skeen; children, Stephen Hall (Pat Erickson) Skeen, Stewart Allen (Marty Sexton) Skeen, Scott Gregory (Susan Slagle) Skeen, and Stacy Skeen (James Lee) Warwick; grandchildren, Stephen “Chad” Skeen, Kari (Josh) Reynolds, Amanda (Kermie) Holloway, Ashley (Johnny) Lay, Katie Jean Skeen, Seguin Lee Warwick and Skylar Skeen Warwick; great grandchildren, Tallen Hudson Reynolds, Charles “Hunter” and Parker Lawrence Holloway, Johnny “Aiden” and Allie Renee Lay, and Jaxson Scot Hobby. The family would like to express their thanks to the staff at Tennova Residential Hospice and all the people who have helped during this time. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to The Frances Waller Scholarship Fund or The Dyer Cemetery Association at Warwick’s Chapel Baptist Church c/o Sherry Sanders, 485 Monday Road, Corryton, Tennessee 37721. The family will receive friends Friday, April 11, 2014 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Trinity Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service will be Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Warwick’s Chapel Baptist Church. The body will lie in state from 11:00 – 1:00 p.m. The funeral will follow immediately with Reverend Jimmy Ray Headrick officiating. Interment will follow in Dyer Cemetery, Luttrell.
