Cox, Mary (Cooper) – age 43, celebrating her 29th birthday for the fourteenth time, of Maynardville, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 2, 2014. After a long battle with cancer, she left with her loving family by her side. She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church and employed by the Union County Board of Education. Mary had a beautiful voice which she lifted up to her Savior. Preceded in death by grandparents, Ralph and Shirley (Sharp) Cooper and Boyd Brewer; and cousin, Joshua Cooper. She is survived by loving husband, Jimmy Cox and beautiful daughters, Carli Gibson, Nikki and Abby Cox; parents, Reverend Larry and Alma (Brewer) Cooper; grandmother, Lurtie Brewer; sister, Teresa (Jim) Bays; brothers, Ralph and Evan Cooper; father and mother-in-law, Michael and Vickie Riffey; sister-in-law, Julie (Kenny) Dillie; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins she loved so much; and special friends, Stacy Lynn and Sue Monroe. The family will receive friends Saturday, October 4, 2014 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Trinity Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be Sunday, October 5, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Trinity Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Wade Brantley and Reverend Robin Ryder officiating.
