Obituary for Harold Eugene Hamilton

Hamilton, Harold Eugene – age 94, born in Scott County, Kentucky on January 13, 1921, of Knoxville, Tennessee and a patient at Norris Nursing Home, formerly from Corbin Kentucky, left for his home in Glory on January 13, 2015. Proceeded in death by his parents, Claude Winter Hamilton and Bessie Wright Hamilton; brothers, James Webber Hamilton and Frank Lewis Hamilton and son-in-law, George Irvin Hensley. He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Lillian Mildred Mulberry Hamilton of the residence; two daughters, Judith Ann Hamilton Hensley of Knoxville, Tennessee and Doris Lee Hamilton Peace and husband Terry of Bellefontaine, Ohio; five grandchildren, Ric Hensley (Sandy), Marc Hensley (Wanda), Deanna Chapman, David Chapman, and Cara Hensley Marshburn (Bobby); ten great grandchildren, Stephanie, Ben, Leslie, Zack, Mack, Jenna, Brandon, Tanna, Emaleigh and Gracie; one great-great grandson, Leland; a double first cousin, Bobby Wright; sister-in-law, Jean Rutledge Hamilton and many other relatives and friends. He was a retired Southern Baptist Minister, serving many churches in Kentucky & Ohio. He also served on the Kentucky Baptist Sunday School Board and Cedarmore Baptist Assembly. He was a long time member of the West Corbin Baptist Church, Corbin, Kentucky and was presently a member of Wallace Memorial Baptist Church, Knoxville, Tennessee. The family will receive friends at West Corbin Baptist Church, Corbin, Kentucky from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 15, 2015 with funeral to follow. Burial will be Friday, January 16, 2015 at Corinth, Kentucky in the Odd Fellows Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. His grandson, Ric Hensley, through Trinity Funeral Home in Maynardville, Tennessee is in charge of the arrangements. Brother Kent Williams, Associate Pastor of Wallace Memorial Baptist Church, Knoxville, Tennessee and Brother Billy Howell, pastor of West Corbin Baptist Church will conduct the service. Marc Hensley, grandson, will handle graveside services. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Ric Hensley, Marc Hensley and David Chapman (honorary); grandson-in-law, Bobby Marshburn; great grandsons, Ben Hensley, Mack Hensley (honorary), Zack Runyan and Brandon Marshburn; cousin, Bob Wright; and nephew, John Hamilton. Additional honorary pallbearers will be the men of West Corbin Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and a great-great grandfather and a loving pastor for over sixty years. His passion was winning souls for the Lord and helping whenever the need arose. He was a wonderful Christian example for all who knew him.
