Reverend Douglas Dean "Doug"  Atkins
Atkins, Reverend Douglas “Doug” – age 59 of Washburn, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on July 19, 2015. He was saved on March 13, 1975 and pastored several churches over the years. Doug was employed by the Town of Bean Station for the past 10 years. He is preceded in death by parents, W. C. and Cleo Atkins; brothers, William and Donald Atkins; and sister, Helen Dalton. Doug is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Esther Atkins; daughter, Lori (Brian) Standifer; son, Kevin (Lea) Atkins; Two grandchildren whom he loved dearly, Ryan Standifer and Blake Atkins; sister, Betty Sewell; brothers, Jerry (Ricki Sue) Atkins, Curtis (Irene) Atkins, Denver and Carson Atkins; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 22, 2015 from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. in the Trinity Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 23, 2015 in the Trinity Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Lonnie D. Dalton, Reverend Greg Hurst and Reverend Darrell Ramsey officiating.
