Reverend Burney B. Hutchison – age 92 of Maynardville, was welcomed into Heaven on Wednesday, October 12, 2016. Burney was a member of Valley Grove Missionary Baptist and faithfully served as their pastor for 39 years. He was a U. S. Navy World War II veteran participating in the D-Day invasion and served in the Pacific Theatre. Burney is a member of the Tri-County Veterans Honor Guard and a 32nd Degree Mason and past master of the J. C. Baker Lodge 720.

Burney is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Evelyn Hutchison; parents, Albert P. and Cora T. Hutchison. He is survived by sons, Larry (Stefanie) Hutchison of Raleigh, NC and Denny Hutchison of Knoxville; grandchildren, Lee Andrew (Juli) Hutchison, Lesley (Noah) Sexton; Brandon Hutchison, Camden Hutchison, Dylan Hutchison, Eli Hutchison and Alexis Godwin; great grandchildren, Natalie Hutchison, Riley White, Macey Hutchison, Emma Sexton, Carley Sexton and Taylor Akins; and sister, Blanche Chambers.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m., Saturday, October 15, 2016 in the Trinity Funeral Home Chapel. The service to follow at 7:00 p.m. with Reverend Jimmy Dividson, Reverend Mike Viles and Reverend Jimmy Woods officiating. Family and friends will meet at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, October 16, 2016 at Trinity Funeral Home and go in procession to New Loyston Memorial Gardens for a 2:30 p.m. interment.
