Obituary for Billy Ray Hodge

Billy R. Hodge, 78 of Maynardville, left this earth on July 24th, 2022 surrounded by his loved ones. Billy was the son of the late Bill and Martha Hodge and the 3rd born to them of 9 children. He was born in Maynardville on September 21, 1943 and would remain in Maynardville his entire life. He married his loving wife Claudia (Davis) Hodge in 1962. Billy was the perfect image of the American Dream, showing how hard work and determination do pay off. He opened Hodge Manufacturing in 1976, and ran this family owned and operated business for 30 years. Billy had a love for his community and the people in it and was the first to lend a helping hand to those who needed it. His family, friends, and anyone who knew him will remember him for his contagious smile and his huge loving heart.
Billy is preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years, Claudia Hodge; parents, Bill and Martha Hodge; brother, Roy Hodge; sisters, Betty Berry and Melba Jean; and special friend, Sue Edens. Billy is survived by sons, Tim (Judy) Hodge and Michael (Tracy) Hodge; grandchildren, Cortney (Jacob) Norris, Kenzie Hodge, Bryce Hodge, and Parker Hodge; brothers, Tommy Hodge, Daryl Hodge, and Kenny Hodge; sisters, Shirley Biggar and Connie (Malcolm) Dyke; along with many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family will receive friends 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 27, 2022 in the Trinity Funeral Home Chapel. The service to follow with Reverend Jimmy Davidson officiating. Family and friends will meet 9:45 a.m., Thursday, July 28, 2022 to proceed to Snodderly Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service.
