Obituary for Carl Curtis Coppock

Carl Curtis Coppock – age 93 of Maynardville, passed away peacefully at home Friday, April 22, 2022. He was a longtime member of Alder Springs Baptist Church, where he served as Deacon for over 60 years. Carl served in the Army during the Korean War and was a lifelong farmer. Carl was active in the Maynardville community, serving on the Board of Directors for the Co-op, being a member of the Union County Historical Society and was a member of the Northern Association of Baptists.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Berniece; sister, Zella Smith; son-in-law, Eddie Orr; and parents, Luther and Waltsie Coppock. Carl is survived by his daughter, Patricia Orr; son, Steve (Lisa) Coppock; grandson, Michael (Meggan) Orr; granddaughters, Olivia (Blake) Orr, Sarah Cox, Hannah Cox and Sophia Cox; brother-in-law, Wayne Loy; sister-in-law, Sue Breeding; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 4:00 – 6:00 p.m., Sunday, April 24, 2022 at Alder Springs Baptist Church. The service to follow with Reverend Jimmy Davidson officiating. Family and friends will meet 9:45 a.m., Monday, April 25, 2022 at Trinity to go in procession to Lett Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service.
