Cuba Pauline (Cox) Wilson, age 101 of Maynardville, went home to be with her Heavenly Father at 2:45 a.m. on May 29, 2018 at her caregiver’s home. She was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church. Cuba was Union County’s Register of Deeds for 40 years. She was Farmer’s Mutual Fire Insurance Company’s Secretary/Treasurer for approximately 30 years. Cuba served the public in various other positions fulfilling her desire to serve and help others.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James Robert Wilson; stepsons, Paul and Bruce; parents, William David and Minnie (Wolfenbarger) Cox; sisters, Ruby Buckner and Georgia Grizzard; brothers, Willie David, John, J. Will and Charles. Cuba is survived by daughter, Judy (Greg) Pruitt; beloved grandson, Wilson Pruitt; step grandsons, Dylan and Jake Pruitt; brother, Reverend Luther Cox; special niece, Carolyn (Buckner) Norris; several nieces and nephews: and a loving family and friends. We want to express our appreciation to Mother’s friends, family and caregivers, Filipp and Ludmila Gashchenko for their unwavering love and attention to her needs for many years.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 30, 2018 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. in the Trinity Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral will follow with Reverend Jimmy Davidson and Reverend Wade Brantley officiating. Singers will be Kay Breeding and the Cedar Grove Quartet. Family and friends will meet at 10:15 a.m., Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Trinity Funeral Home to go in procession to Pleasant View Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. interment. Serving as pallbearers, Clayton Cox, David Cox, Alvin Norris, Harold Cooke, Bob Cole and Steve Browning; honorary pallbearer, David Myers.
