Obituary for Curtis Enzer "Poppy" Peace Jr.

Curtis Enzer “Poppy” Peace, Jr. – age 82 of Andersonville, went home to be with the Lord. He is singing with the Angels and will be deeply missed by his family and everyone that knew him. Job 14:1-2 says: Man that is born of a woman is a few days, and full of trouble. He cometh forth like a flower, and is cut down: he fleeth also as a shadow and continueth not. He loved his family and friends, but he loved the Lord most of all! He was a member of Indian Gap Missionary Baptist Church. Poppy enjoyed playing and singing bluegrass gospel music.

He is preceded in death by his father, Curtis Enzer Peace, Sr. and mother, Hazel Cora Peace; brother, Fred Peace; sister, Elsie May Powell. Poppy is survived by wife, Christine Ann Peace; sons and daughters-in-law, Archie Joe (Karen) Peace and Larry (Tammy) Peace; daughters and sons-in-law, Janet Sue (David) Overton, Mary Jane Ingram, Charlotte Ann (Rick Howard, Lisa Peace and Lynn Little; sisters, Joan Smeltzer, Betty Flatford and Bonnie Wyrick; thirteen grand children and twenty-three great grandchildren; and mother and stepfather of his children, Ann and Junior Irwin. The family has a special thank you to Amedisys Home Health and Hospice at UT.

The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 2, 2022 in the Trinity Funeral Home Chapel. The service to follow with Reverend Ronnie McBee, Reverend Justin Howard, Reverend Roger Hatmaker and Reverend Jerry Little. Family and friends will meet 10:45 a.m., Thursday, November 3, 2022 and proceed to New Loyston Cemetery for a 12:00 noon graveside service.
