Fred Austin Thomas – age 55 of Maynardville, passed away after a short illness November 9, 2021 at North Knox Medical Center. He was a member of Westside Baptist Church. He was a staunch Republican who loved the outdoors and spending time with his grandchildren. If you ever needed a laugh, he was always there with a joke and could brighten anyone’s day with his sense of humor. He will truly be missed by everyone and always be remembered as the loving, giving man he was.

He is preceded in death by father, Calvin Taylor Thomas; grandfather, Marmie Duke Thomas; uncle, Fred C. Thomas; nephew, Cory Mills; and father-in-law, Claude Walker. Fred is survived by wife of 34 years, Tammy (Walker) Thomas; sons, David (Tammy) Thomas and Taylor (Ravyn) Thomas; grandchildren, Cadence, Skylar, Gavin and Charleigh Thomas; loving mother, Barbara “Jean” Watson; sisters, Rosetta (Greg) Johnson, Teresa “Pete” (Bill) Keller and Christy (David) Moore; mother-in-law, Laverne Walker; sister-in-law, Claudine Kirby; brother-in-law, Jeff Walker; and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., November 12, 2021 in the Trinity Funeral Home Chapel. The service to follow with Reverend Jason Turner officiating. Family and friends will meet at Trinity 9:45 a.m., Saturday, November 13, 2021 to go in procession to New Loyston Memorial Gardens for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service.
