Howard Edward Summers – age 88 of Knoxville, passed away peacefully Friday, February 26, 2021 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. He was a member of Colonial Heights Church.

He is preceded in death by parents, Oliver and Myrtle Summers; brothers, Oliver M. Summers, Jr., Winfred T. Summers and Gerald R. Summers; and sisters, Imogene S. McLemore and Eleanor S. Harrison. Howard is survived by spouse, Barbara Summers; daughter, Tanya Summers; nieces, Sandra McLemore Pickett, Verna Mills, and Kelly (Don) Dixon; nephews, Bobby (Panida) McLemore, Steve (Kim) Summers and John (Mandy) Summers; and many more family and friends.

Family and friends will meet at Lynnhurst Cemetery on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at 12:45 p.m. for a 1:00 p.m. graveside service with Reverend Kent Williams officiating. Following the service Tanya would be honored if family and friends would meet her at Howard and Barbara’s favorite place to eat, Cracker Barrell Restaurant, 5001 Central Avenue Pike, for coffee and dessert.
