James Thomas Alton Pierce of Kempner, Texas, formerly of Maynardville, was born December 11, 1943 and passed away suddenly November 6, 2020. He was retired from the U. S. Army serving in Germany with two tours of duty in Vietnam. After retirement he enjoyed gardening, watching westerns, German food, guns and his little dog Willie.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Alton Pierce and Daisy (Graham) Pierce; brothers, Nathan, Harvey, Bill and Larry. James is survived by his wife of 31 years, Hella Pierce of Kempner, Texas; daughter, Sandie Diana of Houston, Texas; sister, Linda Plowman of Corryton, Tennessee; sisters-in-law, Wilma Pierce and Carol Pierce; stepchildren, Silvia, Robert and Melanie; grandchildren, Thomas, Ashley, Bryan and Brandon; great grandson, Carter; aunt, Mildred Chadwick; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Interment will be in Central Texas State Veteran Cemetery in Killeen, Texas. Arrangements by Crawford Bowers Funeral Home, Copperas Cove, Texas.
