Joseph E. Roberts – passed away peacefully at the age of 99 on January 4, 2024 at his home in Corryton. He was born, married and raised his children in New Jersey, then moved to Corryton in 1987. He proudly served as a Marine in the Pacific arena during World War II. Prior to Covid he was a member of Rutherford Memorial United Methodist Church. For many years he took daily walks up and down Jim Wolfe Road enjoying his time waving to all who passed by and making friends with those who stopped to talk or just wave back. Until this past year he spent happy times at Corryton Senior Center especially when playing billiards.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Irma and by his son, Joseph. He is survived by his children, Kathleen and Jim (Brenda); grandsons, Chris (Tonya) and Tim (Lila); and great granddaughter, Breanna.
