Mary Ellen Smith – age 80 of Knoxville, formerly of Maynardville, passed away October 31, 2021, peacefully surrounded by her family. Mary had a great love for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved her churches, Fairmont and Cross Roads Presbyterian.

She is preceded by parents, Glen and Dorothy Fields. Mary is survived by her husband of 40 years, Jay Smith; children, Mike (Kathy) Biggs, Pam Wilkinson, Kelley (Eddie) Reymond and Greg (Misty) Smith; grandchildren, Zack Wilkerson, Samantha Biggs, Beau Biggs, Dean Smith, Bridget Reymond, Brandon Reymond, Harrison Reymond and Willow Smith; great grandchildren, Madison Wilkinson, Maverick Ball-Reymond and Amelia Reymond; brothers, John Brown and Glen Fields; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 3, 2021, in the Trinity Funeral Home Chapel. The service to follow with Reverend Robert Cook and Reverend Michael Mills officiating. Friends and family will meet at Trinity 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 4, 2021, to go in procession toSkaggs Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service.
