Mildred Bernice (Rutherford) Flatford, age 91 of Andersonville, passed away on August 1, 2021. She was a long-time member of Byrams Fork Baptist Church. She raised her family of six boys along with four of her husband’s siblings and provided care for her elderly parents. Their home was always open to those who needed a place to stay, a warm bed and a meal. She was a very special lady and loved by so many.
Preceded in death by husband Sherman (Brownie) Flatford, sons Ronnie and Denny Flatford; parents Tom & Rova Rutherford, sisters Edith Flatford, Marie Kidwell and infant brother Arthur Rutherford. She is survived by sons Gene Flatford (Debbie), Terry Flatford (Teresa), Randy Flatford, Roger Flatford (Dawn); 11 grandchildren, Darron (Kitta) Flatford, Daniel (Elizabeth) Flatford, Debra Ford, Tera (Benjamin) Wethington, Chasity Brock, Kim (Josh) Pursiful, Kellie Smith, Bryan Flatford, Brandon (Mary) Flatford, April (Shaun) Graves and Brianna (Eric) Cooke, 19 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 from 5-7 p.m. with funeral services immediately following. Reverends Jack Walker and Kyle Shell officiating. Family and friends will meet on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at 9:45 a.m. at Trinity Funeral Home to go in procession to Ridenour Cemetery for 11:00 a.m. interment. Reverends Justin Howard and Daniel Flatford will officiate graveside service. Pallbearers: Darron Flatford, Daniel Flatford, Bryan Flatford, Brandon Flatford, Josh Pursiful and Jeff Jenkins.
