Nellie Ruth Edmondson (Coffey), age 85 of Maynardville, TN. Born Feb 6, 1936 in Tazewell, TN passed away at her home in Maynardville under the care of UT Hospice, Sept 24, 2021. She was a member of Chittum Chapel Baptist Church in Tazewell. She was preceded in death by her husband: Ray E. Edmondson of Maynardville, whom she loved and cared for so well, for better and for worse, even through a debilitating stroke. Parents Rev.John H Coffey and Mrs. Cornelia Coffey, brothers Calvin Don Coffey and Jessie Coffey, sisters Mae Tolliver, SaraLynn Coffey, and Eula Lee Rowland all of Tazewell, TN. She is survived by her daughter, Porshia Edmondson of Maynardville, sisters: Jean Bryant of Tazewell, Rachel Ramsey of Sneedville, Peggy Payne of New Tazewell, Phyllis Russell of New Tazewell, Barbara Scott of Tazewell, Greta Mullins of Sneedville, Diane Thompson of Tazewell, and Sandy Anders of Tazewell, a host of nieces and nephews, long time neighbors Terry and Cheryl Chittum (Casey, Misty, Aaron) and Katherine Cox (Nig) of Maynardville. She was loved on and visited often by a host of family friends and their children, but two young men loved her so well and are honorary pallbearers: Nate Cooke and Maveric Doizer. Pallbearers: Benny Thompson, Jason Thompson, Jeff Tolliver, Scott Payne, Stacey Anders, and Chris Russell. Receiving of friends will be at Trinity Funeral Home on Sunday, Sept 26 from 2-4. The funeral will begin at 4 with graveside at Monroe cemetery immediately after the funeral. Rev. Matthew Cooke, David Province and Michael Carr officiating.
