Patricia Hackworth Gentry McCarter – age 74 of Maynardville, passed away Saturday, December 16, 2023. She loved cooking, gardening and tending her flowers. She took great pride in her children and grandchildren. Pat was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and loved her church family dearly.

She is preceded in death by husband, Dwayne McCarter; brother, Stanley Hackworth; father, J. R. Hackworth; and stepfather, Billie Hurst. Pat is survived by children, Greg (Robin) Gentry; Kristi (James) Burbage and Marty (Blythe) McCarter; grandchildren, David, Daniel, Blake, Brooklyn, Miriam, Maisie, Ziporah and Robert; mother, Opal Hurst; siblings, Royce Pratt and Rena Clayton.

The family will receive friends 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 20, 2023 in the Trinity Funeral Home Chapel. The service to follow with Reverend Allen Giles officiating. Family and friends will meet 10:45 a.m., Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens in Claxton for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service.
