Obituary for Robert Lee "Bobby" Cox
Robert ¨Bobby” Lee Cox - age 61 of Maynardville, was born on November 21st, 1959 and passed away suddenly and peacefully at his home in Maynardville on Monday, June 14th, 2021. A man of faith, Bobby gave his life to God at age 19, and was an ordained minister and member of Bethel Baptist Church. He has now found everlasting peace and is rejoicing with the Lord.
Bobby was a devoted husband for 39 years, proud father, and grandfather. He was a man who knew no strangers. His gentle smile was always a welcomed sight to those who had the pleasure of meeting him. Always quick to lend a helping hand and willing to go out his way to make others feel welcomed. Bobby was beloved by all who knew him. He loved spending time with his family and friends, carpentry, going to gun shows, watching sports, and driving too fast in his Camaro. What he loved and treasured more than anything was being ¨Gran-Gran” to his granddaughters.
He is preceded in death by his parents Clondo and Gaynell Cox. He is survived by his loving wife Teresa Cox; his children Chase (Kara) Cox, Chelsea (Tyler) Brooks; granddaughters Makynli Yarbrough, Kenlee Brooks, Autumn and Alyssa Cox; sister Sharon Cox; mother-in-law Emma McMillan and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, brother/sisters- in-law, nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Trinity Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, June 16, 2021. The funeral service to follow with Reverend Tim Inklebarger officiating with music by Damon Seal. Family and friends will meet at Trinity Funeral Home, Thursday, June 17, 2021 at 8:45 a.m. to leave in procession to Pleasant View Cemetery where a graveside service will be held for family and friends at 10:00 a.m. Serving as pallbearers, Chase Cox, Tyler Brooks, Joshua Mynatt, Terry Bailey, Jason Bailey, Jordan Onks and John Brock; honorary pallbearers, Doyle Dukes and Howard Cox.
