Roger L. Cooper – age 71 of Maynardville went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, August 2, 2022, after a battle with respiratory issues. He had a strong faith in God.

He is preceded in death by parents, Idell and Estelle Hutchison Cooper, brothers, Benny Cooper and Clifford Hutchison. Roger is survived by loving wife of 52 years, Nora Beason Cooper; son, Johnny (Gloria) Cooper; daughters, Robin Sturgeon and April (Jeromy) Lock; grandchildren, Beth Lewis, Danielle (Matt) Smith, Cody (Jessica) Godsey, Dillan (Krista) Godsey, Abbie (Tyler) Brock, Gracie Hunter and Hunter and Nevaeh Lock; great grandchildren, Harper and Waylon Smith, William and Teagan Brock, Bishop, Blane and Bella Lewis, Carley and Colton Godsey and Maddox Godsey; sisters, Linda Welch, Lois Beason and Betty Tharpe; along with a host of nieces, nephews and special friends.

Family and friends will meet 8:45 a.m., Friday, August 5, 2022 at Trinity Funeral Home to proceed to Beason Cemetery in New Tazewell for a 10:00 a.m. graveside service with Reverend Wade Brantley and Reverend Jeromy Lock officiating.
