Sherman Wesley Mills – age 81, born July 29, 1942 and passed away peacefully October 20, 2023, surrounded by family and friends after a long battle with Parkinson’s. He showed his love of God through singing and playing bluegrass gospel for 50 years. Preceded in death by his parents, JT Mills and Etha Oglebys Mills, brothers; Alvin, Benny and Reaford and sisters; Alma, Margaret and Carolyn. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mossie Lucinda, son; Wesley (Sherry) Scott (Cindy), daughter; Lynda (Mike) Jones, sister; Kathleen (James) Dyer, Mary (Mitchell) Howard, brother; Tommy (Cathy) Mills. 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren with one on the way. The family will receive friends Sunday, October 22, 2023, 5:00- 7:00 p.m. at Trinity Funeral Home Chapel with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 p.m. Reverend Phillip Hayes and Lucas Mills officiating. Interment 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 23, 2023, in Hinds Creek Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be; Charles Maples, Josh Eyerman, Phillip Mills, Lucas Mills, Wesley Mills and Matthew Eyerman. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be; Trey Mills, Peyton McMahan and Jackson Maples.
