Obituary for Philip Andrew Harness Jr.

Harness, Philip Andrew, Jr. – age 63 of Maynardville, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 19, 2015. He was born on December 12, 1951. He was a member of Carrs Branch Baptist Church. He was a U. S. Army Veteran, proudly serving his country during the Vietnam War. He worked primarily in the trucking industry, also working as a law enforcement officer serving as Chief of Police of Cumberland Gap. He joked that he was both Andy and Barney as he was the only officer serving the small town. He was an avid fisherman, who enjoyed Norris Lake and an avid golfer with a unique swing. His drives usually started way left and ended up to the far right. Phillip always had a joke for every occasion, inappropriate or not. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Philip is preceded in death by his daughter, BachMai Harness; father, Philip Andrew Harness, Sr.; grandparents, Elvin and Rosa Jessie and James A. and Alice Harness. He is survived by his daughter, Rosa Harness Sohrab; granddaughter, Kiana; grandsons, Cylar and Cyrus; mother, Celia Ann Harness; brothers, Terry Harness, Dat Tran, Scott Harness and Rex Harness. A private celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Trinity Funeral Home, LLC, Maynardville. 865-992-5002 www.trinityfuneralhome.net
