Obituary for Carroll Reece Booker

Carroll Reece  Booker
Booker, Carroll Reece (C.R.), born May 1, 1926 of Tater Valley Road in Luttrell went home to be with the Lord and his daughter, Lisa on Tuesday, May 14, 2013. He was a faithful member, deacon and Sunday School teacher at First Baptist Church of Maynardville. He served as past trustee of Northern Association of Baptists. He was a rural mail carrier for 32 years on Route 2, Luttrell and retired to full time farming. He was a World War II veteran. He was on the board of directors of the Luttrell Volunteer Fire Department. He was a man who loved the Lord, his family and his country. Preceded in death by parents, Reverend James Verlin and Delphia Boruff Booker; daughter, Lisa Carol Booker; sisters, Wilma Jean Loope and Majorie Booker. Survived by wife of 58 years, Zettie Dyke Booker; daughters, Cheryl (Ricky) Walker, Sheila (Donel) Hall and Lana Booker; grandchildren, Carrie Hall, Brandon (Lori) Hall and Reece Walker; great grandchild, Dylan Hall; sisters, Christine Jackson and Peggy Wood; brother, Gail Booker; and a host of family and friends. Family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2013, at Trinity Funeral Home in Maynardville. Funeral will follow visitation at 8:00 p.m. Reverend Ernest Greene and Reverend Philip King officiating. Interment in Haun’s Cemetery on Tater Valley Road at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 17, 2013 with full military honors. Pallbearers are Brandon Hall, Reece Walker, Olen Booker, Bud Dyke, Roy Wright, Gary Walker, George Booker and Dennis Dyer. Honorary pallbearers are the Brotherhood Sunday School class, the deacons of First Baptist of Maynardville and Dylan Hall. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Tennessee Baptist Children’s Home, P. O. Box 2206 Brentwood, Tennessee 37024.
