Smith, Charles (Wayne) – age 59 of Maynardville, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 9, 2014. He was a member and Deacon of Walnut Grove Baptist Church. Wayne had a love for his family and the outdoors and was a fishing guide on Norris Lake for 25 years. He is preceded in death by father, Charles “Doc” Smith; father-in-law, J. C. Bowles; and brother-in-law, Willie Evans. He is survived by wife of 40 years, Kathy Smith; daughters, Amy Conatser and Holly (Dwight) Bales; mother, Dorothy Smith; granddaughters, Emery, Harper and Blayne Bales; grandsons, Rylee and Spencer Conatser; sisters, Darlene Evans, Linda (Wayne) Ball and Robin Cox; mother-in-law, Margaret Bowles; special sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Larry and Kaye Young; and friends that he rode motorcycles with. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 12, 2014 in the Trinity Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service will follow immediately at 8:00 p.m. with Reverend Josh Jones and Reverend Brian Cooke officiating. Interment will be Thursday, February 13, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in New Loyston Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Union County Sheriff Junior Loy, Steve Thomas, Melvin Cooke, Johnny Richardson, Dustin Reno, Matthew Reno, Ray Mason and Joe Brantley. Honorary pallbearers will be Junior Jones, Junior Weaver, and the Deacons and our church family of Walnut Grove Baptist Church.
