Obituary for Darrell Paul Malone

Darrell Paul  Malone
Darrell P. Malone – age 68 of Maynardville, passed away on March 17, 2016 at the home of Bill and Alice Malone after a battle with Parkinson’s disease. Darrell was born February 18, 1948. He was saved at an early age and was a member of Alder Springs Baptist Church. Darrell graduated from East Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Science degree and from the University of Tennessee Knoxville with a Master’s in Guidance Counseling. He worked as a school guidance counselor in both Union and Knox County School Systems and retired after 39 years of service. Darrell was a very active member of the Union County community serving as a member of the Lions Club, Union County Historical Society and Retired Teachers Association.
Darrell is preceded in death by parents, Lawrence and Martha Malone; brothers, Bobby and Kenneth “Sonny” Malone; sister, Anna Lou Young; and nephew Preston Malone. He is survived by brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Alice Malone (caregivers); brother, Ray (Phyllis) Malone; nephews, Anthony (Renita) Malone, Jason (Kim) Malone, Jimmy (Vanessa) Arthur, Lewis (Martha) Arthur, Paxton (Tracy) Malone and Rodney Malone; a host of great nieces and nephews; special great nieces, Jennifer Helton and Emmagayle and Jennagrace Malone. Darrell had many friends including special friends, Barbie and Allen Beeler, Sonya and Lynn Munsey, Martha Warwick, David Myers and Ronnie Mincey. Special thanks to Home Health and U T Hospice of Knoxville.
The family will receive friends Saturday, March 19, 2016 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Trinity Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service to immediately follow at 7:00 p.m. with Reverend Robbie Helton and Reverend Jimmy Davidson officiating. A eulogy will be given by Deloris Anderson. Family and friends will meet Sunday, March 20, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Trinity Funeral Home and proceed in procession to Beeler Cemetery for a 2:00 p.m. interment service. Pallbearers, nephews and great nephews; Honorary Pallbearers, faculty and staff and retired teachers of Horace Maynard High School and Gibbs High School.
