Sharp, Edith Annette – age 81 of Maynardville, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 24, 2015. She was of the Baptist faith. Edith was retired from Standard Knitting Mills after 37 years of service. She was a member of The Eastern Star of the Masonic Lodge and a lifelong member of the Womens Auxiliary of the VFW Post 8682. She was an avid seamstress and loved gardening. Edith is preceded in death by parents, Hobart and Vina Sharp; brothers, John, Glenn and G. B. Sharp. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Herschel Sharp; sisters, Lois Ailor, Wanda Murray, Patsy Nell Effler and Sharon Russell; aunt, Pauline Garrison; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday, February 27, 2015 in the Trinity Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service will follow immediately at 8:00 p.m. with Reverend Larry Cooper and Reverend Scotty Bales officiating. Interment will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 28, 2015 in Effler Cemetery.
