Joan Smith – age 80 of Maynardville, passed away on December 30, 2015. She is preceded in death by her son, Danny Smith; parents, Ledford Ryan and Lillie Powers; step-father, Murph Powers; brothers, Charlie Ryan, Wayne Powers and Ray Powers. Joan is survived by daughters, Katherine Kennedy and Kim (Darryl) Cook; son, Tim (Shannon) Smith; sisters, Ann (Tom) Patterson and Mona (Ron) Doering; brother, Hubert (Linda) Powers; eleven special grandchildren; and several great grandchildren. Joan will be greatly missed, but she is finally at peace with her son, Danny Ray, who she has been waiting to see again one day. The family will receive friends Saturday, January 2, 2016 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. in the Trinity Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. with Reverend Tom Patterson officiating. Interment to follow in Monroe Cemetery.
