Johnson, Joe R. – age 65, of Maynardville passed away in his sleep Sunday, September 29, 2013. He was a member of Oaks Chapel American Christian Church. He has been in the carpentry trade for many years. Mr. Johnson is preceded in death by parents, Thurman and Bertie (Wilkerson) Johnson; sister, Nita LeSueur; brothers, Roy, Eugene, Hobert, Edgar, J. T. and Danny Johnson. He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Reverend Joe Michael and Melissa Johnson; daughters and sons-in-law, Toni and Tim Corum and Kim and Mark Ray; and their mother, Barbara Johnson Smith; brothers, Homer Johnson and Reverend Earl Johnson; sisters, Imogene Andrews and Hazel Keanaaina; grandchildren, Abbie Johnson, Trey and Christian Corum and Tessa and Shawn Ray; and many nieces, nephews and close friends; special friend Sue Nicley. The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 1, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the Trinity Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral will immediately follow at 8:00 p.m. with Reverend Gary Vandergriff and Reverend Clifford Fraker officiating. Interment will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 2, 2013 in Milan Cemetery.
