Peggy Anne  Monroe (Adams)
Monroe, Peggy Anne (Adams), age 75 of Corryton and Sharps Chapel, Tennessee, went to Heaven on January 16, 2013. A native of Harlan County, KY, Peggy grew up in North Knoxville and graduated from Fulton High School. Member of Salem Baptist and later, First Baptist Church of Maynardville. Peggy loved God and her church, and her family was her world. Preceded in death by sons, Anthony Glenn (Tony) and Christopher Leonard (Chris) Monroe; parents, John and Olive Adams; sisters and brother-in-law, Pauline Adams, Joyce and Jasper Oglesby; brothers and sisters-in-law, Shirley Adams, Bill and Polly Adams. Survived by her husband of 54 years, Glenn Carroll Monroe; daughters, Lisa Carole Monroe Starbuck and husband Scott, Tracy LeAnn Monroe Humphrey and husband J. R.; granddaughters, Nikki Monroe and husband John and Lauren Humphrey; great-grandchildren, Emily Parton, Alexis Monroe, Cheyenne Smith; sisters and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Dick Hayes and Patsy Adams; brothers and sisters-in-law, Johnny and Mary Adams, Joe and Dot Adams, Paul and Ann Adams and Juanita Adams; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers include Kenny Monroe, Scott Starbuck, Jimmy Monroe, Chris Warwick, Adam Beeler and John Monroe. The family will receive friends at Trinity Funeral Home in Maynardville on Saturday, January 19, 2013 from 5:00p.m. – 8:00p.m. with a funeral service immediately following, officiated by Pastor John Holland and Pastor Phillip King. Burial will be in Monroe Cemetery on Main Street in Maynardville on Sunday, January 20, 2013 at 2:00p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Peggy’s name to First Baptist Church of Maynardville, c/o David Myers, Treasurer, P.
