Richardson, Reverend Vaughn R. – age 79, of Union County went peacefully to be with the Lord with his loving devoted wife of 60 years and family by his side on Wednesday, October 16, 2013. He was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church, Hickory Valley Road. Being a true servant of our Lord, he pastored 8 churches in Union, Anderson and Grainger Counties. He witnessed souls saved and baptized many. He loved being in touch with God and nature while doing avid outdoor adventures. Preceded in death by parents, Hobert and Elizabeth Richardson; daughter, Rita Irizzary; 6 sisters and 3 brothers. Survived by wife, Betty Juanita (Berry) Richardson; sons, Roger (Rhonda), Jeff (Peggy), Johnny (Kathy), Chad (Marla); and daughter, Tesha (Lonnie) Hall; sister, Fontella Tudor; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and loved ones. The family will receive friends Friday, October 18, 2013 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Trinity Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service will follow immediately at 8:00 p.m. with Reverend Fred Goodson and Reverend Jason Sluss officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Drew, Cody, Chase and Petty Officer 3rd Class Jonathan Richardson of the United States Navy and Austin and Brady Hall. Honorary pallbearers will be SFC Lonnie Hall of the United States Army and Robert Lockhart. Singing will be provided by Cedar Grove Baptist Church Quartet. Interment will be in New Loyston Memorial Gardens Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. A man who always put God, faith and family first will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
